Hard work can be very rewarding if a person’s goals are met. It can, however, be also very frustrating if the exact opposite occurs. There is only so much frustration a person can take and it is very stressful. It is a feeling one gets after sacrificing so much at the office and not getting the promotion you deserve. These same emotional deflations are also felt at the gym. No matter how much we sweat it out, genetics will still control the final outcome of our bodies. Breasts will not get any bigger, calves any more defined, or our cheeks any fuller than our genes will allow. Geneticists may find the answer to this problem in the future, but that can be a long time from now. There are methods available to you right now, however, to improve the contour and shape of your body, and they involve the use of silicone implants.
Silicone is comprised of artificial polymers that combine silicon atoms with oxygen, hydrogen, and carbon. Silicone has many uses, but it is particularly renowned as an essential material in plastic surgery. As implants, silicone is considered a prosthesis since it is a foreign object that must be accepted by the body. S ilicone implants are normally associated with women wanting larger breasts. Now, even men can avail of these to augment the appearance of certain areas like the pectorals, calves, and buttocks. The cheeks and abdominals can benefit from silicone augmentation as well.
There is a reason silicone implants are so popular. For one, they feel very natural as opposed to saline implants which can feel odd or misshapen, especially for thin women. Saline implants are also only used for the breasts as opposed to the myriad of parts silicone can enhance. Current technology has also developed stronger shells for the silicone implants, allowing them to endure more pressure and making the recipient more secure. Rupture rates have significantly decreased from seven to ten percent in five years to only one percent in six years. This durability and flexibility also allows the implants to be shaped in a variety of ways, giving the patient many choices for the look they desire.
Now, being a very invasive procedure, the insertion of silicone implants is not for everybody. Smokers are not valid candidates for the procedure, since nicotine causes several complications. People with auto-immune disorders and have a history of bruising are also advised against undergoing the surgery. Buttock implants can be especially uncomfortable due to the area being subjected to a lot of motion. Implant migration is a higher risk and in such cases further corrective surgery is needed, if the implant is not removed entirely.
Like most invasive surgery, general anesthesia is used here as well. The silicone implant can be placed in three areas and these are subglandular, partial submuscular, and complete submuscular. The choice is up to you and your surgeon. Recovery time from silicone implant surgery can take anywhere from one to four weeks. Buttock enhancements generally take longer and it may take a year for you to feel like the implants are a natural part of your body. Exercise will need to be avoided for several weeks as well.
There are side-effects here that are normal to any surgery such as hematoma, fluid build-up, infection, pain and differing sensations. The ones most associated with silicone implants, however, are implant rupture and capsular contracture, an auto-immune response to the foreign object in the body. Silicone implants have been under fire in the past for reputedly being unsafe, but the latest modern studies have disproven any connection to systemic diseases.
Selection between Saline Breast Augmentation and Silicone breast augmentation is very tuff :D
